Thirty-five outstanding Vietnamese business leaders and organisations were honored at the recently concluded Asia Pacific Enterprise Awards 2020 or APEA 2020.<\/p>\n

Thirty-Five Vietnamese Outstanding Award Recipients were honoured at The Asia Pacific Enterprise Awards 2020 – Vietnam Chapter<\/p>\n

This is the award’s 14th<\/sup>\u00a0year, and it is the fourth edition of the APEA in\u00a0Vietnam<\/span>. An initiative by Enterprise Asia, the region leading NGO, APEA is the largest regional recognition programme, with over 3,000 nominations received each year, and less than one tenth of that receiving the awards in all 14 markets.<\/p>\n

With the theme of\u00a0‘Accelerating Growth Beyond Borders’,\u00a0<\/i>over 200 attendees were present at the by-invitation only awards ceremony in\u00a0Vietnam<\/span>, comprising of industry leaders and dignitaries including Mr.\u00a0Dante Brandi<\/span>, Consul General of Italy;\u00a0Mr.\u00a0Vincent Floreani<\/span>, Consulate General of\u00a0France<\/span>; Mr.\u00a0Tomaso Andreatta<\/span>, Vice-Chairman and Treasurer of European Chamber of Commerce Vietnam; Mr.\u00a0Mohan Ramesh Anand<\/span>, Chairman of Indian Business Chamber in\u00a0Vietnam<\/span>; Mr. Michele D’Ercole, Chairman of Italian Chamber of Commerce in\u00a0Vietnam<\/span>; Mr.\u00a0Jean-Paul Haessig<\/span>, President of Swiss Vietnam\u00a0Association and Mr.\u00a0Bao Nguyen<\/span>, President of The Canadian Chamber of Commerce\u00a0Vietnam<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Over the past thirteen years, over 2,000 of the most senior entrepreneurs in\u00a0Asia<\/span>\u00a0has received the APEA, including\u00a0Vietnam’s<\/span>\u00a0Mr. Dang\u00a0Van Thanh<\/span>\u00a0of TTC Group,\u00a0Malaysia’s<\/span>\u00a0Tan Sri Teh Hong Piow of Public Bank Group and\u00a0Lim Wee Chai<\/span>\u00a0of Top Glove Corporation Bhd,\u00a0Indonesia’s<\/span>\u00a0Mr.\u00a0Chairul Tanjung<\/span>\u00a0of CT Corp and Mr. Mochtar Riady of Lippo Group,\u00a0Taiwan’s<\/span>\u00a0Mr.\u00a0Douglas Tong Hsu<\/span>\u00a0of Far Eastern Group,\u00a0Thailand’s<\/span>\u00a0Mr. Kobchai Chirathivat of Central Pattana PCL and Mr. Rit Thirakomen of MK Restaurant Group,\u00a0Philippines’<\/span>\u00a0the late\u00a0Henry Sy<\/span>\u00a0of SM Investments and Tony Tan Caktiong of Jolibee Foods Corporation,\u00a0Singapore’s<\/span>\u00a0Mr.\u00a0Kwek Leng Beng<\/span>\u00a0of Hong Leong Group,\u00a0Hong Kong’s<\/span>\u00a0Lui Che Woo<\/span>\u00a0of Galaxy Entertainment Group and Dr.\u00a0Eleanor Kwok<\/span>\u00a0of Sa Sa International Holdings Limited, and\u00a0India’s<\/span>\u00a0Mr.\u00a0Adi Godrej<\/span>\u00a0of the Godrej Group and Mr.\u00a0Rahul Bajaj<\/span>\u00a0of Bajaj Group.<\/p>\n

Dr. Fong, Chairman of Enterprise Asia said, “The pandemic has also brought about new opportunities in different ways. The crisis showed us that organisations and entrepreneurs that are well prepared can and will find ways to respond to existing or emerging needs.” He further added, “It is clear evidence, that responsible, innovative entrepreneurship is an essential driver of growth and prosperity”<\/p>\n

Notable winners of the APEA Vietnam chapter include Mr.\u00a0Tran Hung Huy<\/span>, Chairman of Board of Directors of Asia Commercial Bank (ACB),\u00a0and Mr. Nguyen Nhu So, Chairman of DABACO Group,\u00a0under the Master Entrepreneur Category; An Phat Holdings JSC, FrieslandCampina Vietnam Co., Ltd. and OLAM Vietnam Limited under the Corporate Excellence Category; Nutifood Nutrition Food JSC under the Inspirational Brand Category.<\/p>\n

“Vietnam<\/span>\u00a0remains one of the fastest growing economies in\u00a0Southeast Asia<\/span>. Recently, the Asia Development Bank reported that the\u00a0Vietnam<\/span>\u00a0economy is expected to grow 1.8% in 2020 amid the pandemic and bounce back to 6.3% in 2021. This is owing both to the government of\u00a0Vietnam<\/span>\u00a0taking swift action on the pandemic and the Vietnamese entrepreneurial spirit amongst,” Dr. Fong added.<\/p>\n
